ايمي سلطان

A radical dancer and choreographer, Amie Sultan works with the history of Egyptian dance and music to create performances, lectures, and heritage preservation initiatives. Trained as a designer, and as a classical Ballerina, Amie Sultan moved to Egyptian dance a decade ago, actively contributing to the growth and preservation of the art form.

Nvard Yerkanian is an illustrator, designer and curator, trained originally as an architect. She wields digital tools to work against erasure of history, by erecting digital monuments, and documenting the disappearance of urban chronicles. Born in Armenia, Nvard is based in Italy, and is the founder of several curatorial initiatives including AJZ

محمد جابر

Mohamed Gaber is a multidisciplinary designer and artist from Egypt, based in the Netherlands. A Jameel Art Prize nominee, he works in a wide range of creative disciplines, including type design, web design, graphic design, live VJ, generative art performing, and sound art. His primary interest lies in the haptic nature of the production of typography and the technological, philosophical, and historical aspects of it.

أحمد ناجي

An Egyptian novelist and literary journalist, Ahmed Naji’s work engages with pop culture and its criticism, examines futurist narratives, and activates political questions on desire and belonging. Awarded the PEN/Barbey Freedom to Write Award, from PEN America, Ahmed Naji is a fellow of the Black Mountain Institute in Las Vegas. He is the author of three bestselling books, translated into multiple languages, and the founder of several digital publishing initiatives.

إبراهيم قريشي

Born in Nairobi and based between Amsterdam and Berlin, Ibrahim Quraishi is a world renowned visual artist, whose work includes photography, video, performance, installation and photo painting. A nomad examining the dynamics of migration and cohabitation, he studied directly under the tutelage of Edward Said. His work has been exhibited at Documenta 14, Baltic Triennial of Vilnius, National Museum of Singapore, Asia Society New York, among others.

Omar Houssien is a designer, painter, and illustrator. Working across multiple cultural references, his artistic projects look at memory, urban landscapes, the human psyche, and symbolism. Founded in 2006, HaRaKa Platform is one of the most prolific performance and choreography collectives from the Arabic speaking region. Based between New York, Berlin and Cairo, the collective’s members work collaboratively through research-based practices, combining urbanism, political science, performance, multimedia installation, music and choreography together in producing complex works that reflect about urgent crisis. Their work has been presented widely including at Cairo Opera House, Sharjah Architecture Triennial, Hebbel Am Ufer Theatre, Tanzquartier Vienna, Shubbak Festival in London among others.

Ji Yeon “Yaloo” Lim is Seoul, South Korea and Chicago, USA based visual artist working with digital media. Her work explores the representation of nature, future imaginaries of our planet, and radical propositions on hybridity and humanity. Yaloo’s work activates a sense of urgency when thinking of the climate crisis, creating playful and tempting visual scenarios. She holds MFA and BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).

Creating canvases to interact and create, he experiments with color-based Interactive & Generative Visuals, Augmented Reality and Installation art. Invested in color theory, motion design, cognitive psychology and research, his works are accessible, conceptually dense, and contemporary.

منى جميل

Mona Gamil is a Cairo based Irish/ Egyptian artist, and choreographer. With a deep interest in interactivity, and cyborgs, Mona has created interactive digital performances, augmented reality theatre, installations, and contemporary dance performances, in the US, North Africa and Europe. She holds a Master’s degree from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin, where she researched the applications of cyborg theory to augmented reality theatre and dance. Her works explores power, hearsay, art economy, and digital futures.

أحمد الشاعر

A pioneer of digital art in North Africa, Ahmed El Shaer is a multi-disciplinary artist whose practice spans the mediums of installation, photography, sound, and the moving image with a particular interest in new technologies. His videos combine Machinima, stock footage, 3D animation and experimental soundscapes, and have been shown at international venues including the Venice Biennale, Bamako Biennale, Cairotronica, the Guggenheim Museum, the Museum of the Moving Image, and Casa Arabe in Madrid. A Fulbright alumni, with research work on game design and theory, Ahmed El Shaer is a PhD Candidate at Abertay University.

Choreographer, composer, theorist and curator, Adham Hafez’s work examines the history of colonialism, environmental catastrophe, gender, performance histories and technology. Presented at reputable venues worldwide including La Mama Theatre (USA), Hebbel Am Ufer (Germany), Cite de la Culture (Tunisia), Sharjah Architecture Triennial (UAE), among others. Awarded First Prize for Choreography by Cairo Opera House, his work has been associated with the HaRaKa Platform collective for over 15 years. He is the founder of Cairography Publication, and TransDance Festival.

Sudanese American fashion and costume designer Mona Hamid is the founder of the fashion house ‘Monzlapur’ in New York City’s Soho. Her design work is gender-fluid, research based, reflects on glamour and contemporaneity, and is evocative of natural and urban spaces. Experimenting with wearables and digital fashion, Mona Hamid’s digital turn is interactive, theatrical and conceptual, envisaging new futures for fashion as it intersects with technology, performance, and gaming.

فهد سالم

Born in Oman, and based in the United Arab Emirates, Fahad Salim is a conceptual artist working with digital art and painting. His works investigate the human psyche as they reflect on desire and frustrations. His signature amorphous and anonymous figures evoke a dreamscape, that references early 20th century surrealism. Through collage, digital manipulation, and painting, this autodidact artist anchors his work in his personal history, contemporary culture, social issues, and a rigorous studio practice.

Layal Srouji is a Palestinian/ American artist based in New York City. Working primarily in fibers and textiles, her practice falls at the intersection of functional clothing design and art-making. Referencing maps, agriculture, and cuisine as markers of identity, Layal weaves these emblems of the Palestinian diaspora subtly into her tactile works. Her fashion designs have been most recently commissioned for and featured by the LA based Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality persona, Lil Miquela. Layal Srouji is a curator at Strada, a New York based startup empowering artists of color.

محمد طيب


Mohammad Tayyeb is a Jordanian artist based in California. His work combines performance, fashion, video and digital art. He wrote, directed and performed several works that were presented at REDCAT Los Angeles, Daret El Fun Amman, Dubai Art Week, and he has been a guest artist at MMAG Foundation, Spring Sessions, Galleria Ordet Milano, among others. He experiments with glitching, collage, archive research and autobiography. He produces clothing items, wearables, digital paintings, videos and gif-art.

مليندا مزنر

A multidisciplinary artist and animator from Beirut, Lebanon, Melinda works with illustration, animation and 3D art. Challenged by the daily realities of Lebanon, between political unrest, the ongoing economic crisis, the pandemic, and the world's third largest chemical explosion, Melinda Mouzannar’s work is characterized by a fearless edge, an affinity with dark subjects, and by a protest energy. Her works manifest through a multifaceted and visceral aesthetic, that is trippy, wondrous, and hypnotic. Her daily environment has shifted some of her recent artworks towards a more political direction, voicing issues related to corruption and its aftermath on all fronts, especially mental health, which has won her The Social Art Award by the Institute for Art and Innovation (Berlin) in 2019

Zeina Raafat is a Cairo based writer, and journalist. Mostly focusing on gender, and how language lends itself to speaking of the human body, her work has manifested in collaborations with theatre makers, performance artists, visual artists, and filmmakers. Between scriptwriting, journalism, cultural management and research, Zeina Raafat writes about passion and love in the world of social media platforms, and poetically explores songs and love letters between material and digital cultures.

Lamia is a performer, researcher, translator and activist. Her work as a researcher focuses on colonialism today, climate change and aesthetics, and feminism outside of western paradigms. Lamia has directed research projects for HaRaKa Platform since 2013, and performed with the company since then at renowned venues including Theater Der Welt (Mannheim), Cite de la Culture (Tunis), and Hebbel Am Ufer Theatre- HAU (Berlin). She was HaRaKa’s representative in the pan-African archive symposium in 2014 (Mannheim), co-directed ‘Arab Dance Caravan’ platform at Tanzmesse (Dusseldorf), and most recently starred in the performance triptych ‘In 50 Years Or So’ which premiered at the inaugural Sharjah Architecture Triennial in 2019, on the occasion of Suez Canal’s 150th anniversary

لمياء فنانة وباحثة ومترجمة وناشطة. يركز عملها كباحثة على الاستعمار، وتغير المناخ وعلم الجمال ، والنسوية خارج النماذج الغربية. أدارت لمياء مشاريع بحثية لمنصة ح ر ك منذ عام 2013 ، وقدمت عروض منذ ذلك الحين في أماكن مرموقة بما في ذلك مهرجان مسرح العالم (مانهايم) ، مدنية الفنون والثقافة (تونس) ومسرح هبيل أم أوفر (برلين). كانت ممثلة في ندوة الأرشيف الإفريقي في عام 2014 (مانهايم) ، وشاركت في إدارة منصة قافلة الرقص العربي في تانزميسي (دوسلدورف) ، ومؤخراً لعبت دور البطولة في العرض الثلاثي"كمان خمسين سنة" الذي تم عرضه لأول مرة في افتتاح ترينالي الشارقة للعمارة 2019 بمناسبة الذكرى 150 لقناة السويس
