‘MERMAID’, is part of a series of short performance-videos exploring dreams and their potential to be a reservoir of political information. Created and produced by Syrian German choreographer Mey Seifan, part of her 10 years research ‘Syrian Dreams Project’, 'MERMAID' explores a world of condensed symbols, through dark comedy, science fiction aesthetics, and a sense of helplessness. A Mermaid figure, appears to be at ease reclining in the middle of the Arabian desert, stuck in an eternal loop over the blockchain, as a set of codes and numbers. Mey Seifan considers the blockchain to be an ideal space to explore dreams. Given that dreams combine condensation, speed, symbolism and density of information. The work is a unique digital collectible from one of the pioneers of contemporary dance and experimental performance in the Middle East, marking Mey Seifan's NFT debut, timed with her upcoming experimental performance world premiere of ‘Reality Check’

منذ أكثر من عشر سنوات وحتى اليوم عملت مصممة الرقصات السورية مي سعيفان على البحث والتحقيق في قوة الأحلام لتكون بمثابة أرشيف للتاريخ السياسي. قادها بحثها الشهير"مشروع المنامات السورية" إلى تأليف العديد من القصائد ومقاطع الفيديو وعروض الرقص والتركيبات المبنية على الأحلام التي تم جمعتها من لاجئين سوريين في الشتات الأوروبي، والأشخاص الذين يعيشون حاليًا في سوريا التي مزقتها الحرب. ترى مي سعيفان البلوكتشين كمساحة للبحث في الأحلام، من خلال تكثيف الرموز والسرعة. تظهر لنا عروس البحر مستلقية في وسط الصحراء العريبة بدون إي قلق. محبوسة في دورة ابدية، كمجموعة من الرموز والأرقام علقت في البلوكتشين
